Portfolio of Clients
As a new business, we have a small but varied and impressive group of clients – and the list is growing weekly. We have created original promotional materials for (among others), La Perla Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetics Clinics, Strategic Wellness Systems and Little Chef Cooking School for Children. Currently, we are preparing materials for three new clients: a monthly magazine aimed at Warsaw's expatriates, a natural cosmetics shop and an English-speaking personal financial consultant looking to attract new clients.
Food Zone
There are currently six restaurants in the Food Zone group, and each and every one of them has had their menus and interiors personally designed by Magda Gessler. Magda is very well-known, both in Poland and abroad, as a restaurant owner, taste creator and interior designer. Her vision and energy have resulted in totally original establishments which serve up interesting combinations of cuisines, as well as traditional Polish food with moderns twists and flashes of sheer culinary genius. WordSmith Promotion is proud to be exclusively responsible for the creation, updating and editing of all English promotional materials for these restaurants – including advertisements, press releases and articles – and is committed to any and all Food Zone projects for a long while. Plans are in place to update the websites, as well as all existing PR materials and menus; this ambitious project will be completed over the next few months.
More details about each of Food Zone's six restaurants are below; these are extracts from official promotional materials prepared by WordSmith Promotion. The full texts (in English only) are available for viewing here: AleGloria, Gar, Polka, Gourmet Zone
AleGloria
In the very heart of Warsaw, strawberries are in full riotous bloom and white geese have flown in to chase the rain and grey away. Magda Gessler - a well-known creator of unique tastes and famed interior designer – invites you to Plac Trzech Krzyży for a succulent meal in a delightful setting. AleGloria (www.alegloria.pl) specialises in New Polish cuisine, a form of culinary fusion which takes traditional Polish dishes and tastes and adds unusual and surprisingly modern twists to them, resulting in fascinating dishes of great sensorial beauty. This is an opportunity to try classic Polish sweets with unique touches and flavours – so indulge in this amazing combination of Old and New Poland, with taste, style and sweetness.
The Embassy of Good Taste
One floor up from AleGloria, in the same building, is the Embassy of Good Taste (www.strefagourmet.pl), a delicatessen and bakery unlike any other in Warsaw. The delicatessen offers a wide variety of food, and it is notable for being quick and easy, 'no muss, no fuss' food. For guests with a sweet tooth – or who need a sugary treat after a virtuous salad – the Embassy offers a truly mouthwatering array of decadent desserts. Ranging from fruit tortes, chocolate eclairs, tiramisu, pies, layered cakes and every imagineable combination of cream, meringue, spice and fruit, there is something for absolutely any and every tastebud.
Czaji Teahouse
The Embassy of Good Taste leads naturally into Czaji Teahouse (www.strefagourmet.pl), giving a lovely sense of openness between the two rooms. In a contrast of decor, Czaji's colours - shades of vanilla, cream, brown and lemon – call to mind the elegant, aristocratic salons of Paris or Moscow at the turn of the 19th century. The teahouse is comfortably furnished, and its huge windows make it very bright and airy; it is relaxed and welcoming, but is also the perfect place to talk business over an excellent breakfast, served between 9:00 and 11:00 daily.
But remember, this is a teahouse, and as such, its choice of this hot brew is truly impressive, with fruit and herbal teas galore, as well as some truly unusual blends such as shichi fuku, 'the tea of seven kinds of happiness'. It contains scorched rice grains, which gives it an intensive and very strong aroma and a wonderfully original taste.
Beluga
For a small slice of the Orient in Warsaw, come to Beluga (www.strefagourmet.pl). Located in the next room over from Czaji, it is a smaller, more intimate space in which to spend time. With golden horses prancing overhead, delicate flowers etched onto glass, a deep green setting and warmly vibrant flowers rustling across the walls, it is an exotically sensual setting. This is accentuated by the menu, which emphasises elegance, style and luxury: indulge in oysters and caviar, or dumplings with cinnamon, or black spaghetti with Vongole. And be sure to explore the drinks list – with an impressive selection of champagnes to choose from, as well as crisp whites, romantic roses and velvety reds on the wine list, this is the perfect place to go to unwind after a long day.
Patio
In the lobby area just outside the Embassy, Czaji and Beluga, there is an airy, open area called Patio (www.strefagourmet.pl). With high ceilings, vaulted windows, French doors and romantic pillars, it is a lovely space that can serve many purposes: small conferences, bustling parties, family celebrations, business mixers, wine and cheese evenings, thematic events and even fashion shows may be held here.
Gar
On a quiet corner, just opposite the grandiose National Philharmonic, is an elegantly styled interior by Magda Gessler called Gar (www.gar.com.pl). The restaurant is a fascinating combination of modern chic married with royal splendor. The result is shamelessly dramatic, glamorous and luxurious; the setting is fit for kings and queens and this is how guests are treated – and expected to feel. Despite this sophistication, it is not a pretentious environment: everyone from business associates to hand-holding couples; from large families to small children are very at home in Gar, and the feel is warm, cosy and welcoming.
As for the food served in this lovely setting, it is an unusual mixture of French-Polish cuisine. This means that the dishes are traditionally Polish, yet combined with Art Culinaire secrets straight from France. Come to Gar, where the French heart and Polish soul become one...
Polka
Ideally located in an Old Town tenement building several centuries old, Polka (www.restauracjapolka.pl) is the realisation of Magda Gessler’s new idea – that of traditional Polish cuisine prepared with tasty organic products and fresh ingredients. Though absolutely delicious, Polish food can be 'heavy' (especially in the warmer months) or place a strong emphasis on sauce, oil, butter and cream. At Polka, simplicity meets succulence, and the result is a type of Polish food that is light and healthy, yet still faithful to the cuisine's traditional heart.
'Perfectly simple. Perfectly delicious. Perfectly Polish.' This is Polka Restaurant.
Warsaw Destination Alliance (WDA)
Warsaw Destination Alliance (www.destinationwarsaw.com), one of the most active organisations in promoting Warsaw as a tourism and business destination, is launching a new web project over the next few weeks. WordSmith Promotion is very pleased to announce that we are to be solely responsible for the quality of the English material on the site, and we will be so for the long-term. Once the new project has been officially launched and WordSmith's contribution is visible, a link to the new site will be placed here.
La Perla
WordSmith Promotion was originally asked to translate the existing Polish website into English; we are responsible for about 90% of the English-language material currently on the site, which can be seen at www.la-perla.pl
Since the completion of the website text, WordSmith Promotion continues to cooperate with La Perla on a regular basis, helping to promote the clinic in the UK. Our task is to attract new clients to the clinic, and to bring English-speakers to Poland as clients, tourists and consumers.
Strategic Wellness Systems
When we first met with Ms. Ballard, she had promotional materials, but felt that many of them needed to be updated. WordSmith Promotion started by re-writing the brochure for Strategic Wellness Systems, and is currently re-writing, editing and updating the entire website for the company. Once it is on-line, we will include the link to Ms. Ballard's website.
Little Chef Cooking School for Children
Cooking school owner Katia Roman-Trzaska approached us about updating and re-writing the text for her website (www.littlechef.pl), and asked that much original material be prepared, since her needs had changed as her services expanded. The text was interesting for WordSmith Promotion to write, since the tone had to be fun and friendly, yet still very informative and professional.
